Comilla, May 07 (V7N) — Border Guard Bangladesh has strengthened surveillance and security measures along the Comilla border to prevent infiltration amid the political situation surrounding the elections in India’s West Bengal.

Following government instructions, BGB personnel have intensified patrols across border areas, including the Golabari frontier in Comilla Sadar.

BGB members were seen conducting patrols across large stretches of the border, while suspicious vehicles and individuals were being questioned. The force is also using modern technology and enhanced monitoring systems to strengthen border surveillance.

According to Comilla-10 BGB, special importance is being given to border areas under Adarsh Sadar and Chauddagram upazilas along the approximately 106-kilometer border zone.

Officials said additional surveillance is being carried out in locations where infiltration incidents occurred previously. Patrols and intelligence activities have been intensified after identifying potential infiltration points.

At the same time, the local administration, public representatives and residents living near the border have also been placed on alert.
