Bandarban, Jul 07 (V7N) — The Bandarban district administration has announced the closure of all tourist destinations in the hill district until July 10 due to continuous heavy rainfall and the risk of possible natural disasters.
The decision was announced in an emergency public notice signed by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md. Saniul Ferdous on Monday.
According to the notice, persistent rainfall has created hazardous conditions on roads and communication networks in different parts of the district. The administration said the temporary closure has been imposed to ensure the safety of tourists and protect lives and property amid the prevailing adverse weather conditions and the risk of accidents.
The notice also stated that the entry of tourists, tour operators and visitors to tourist attractions and other identified vulnerable areas in Bandarban will remain completely prohibited during the restriction period.
The district administration has urged all concerned to remain vigilant, take necessary safety precautions and strictly comply with official directives until the weather situation improves.
