Eighteen homesteads in the Anwara upazila of Chittagong were destroyed by fire. That event resulted in the burning of five persons, including three children. The fire occurred on Sunday, February 4 at midnight in the Raipur Union upazila's Uttar Padua Para region.

The following people were  scorched  the fire: Niha (13), Hasan (10), Tanya (5), Md. Jamal (45), and Md. Helal (35). The Chittagong Medical College Hospital has accepted the injured.

According to eyewitnesses, the autorickshaw's battery was charged at Jamal's residence. There, an electrical short circuit caused the fire to ignite.

The affected residents assert that the unexpected fire caused them to lose between 70 and 80 lakh taka. Vital land and money records were set ablaze.

Fire Station in Anwara Officer-in-charge Mong Suinyu Marma told the event involving the fire happened in Raipur Union on Sunday around 1:30 am. There, an Anwara Fire Service unit was dispatched right away. The fire was brought under control after two hours of work. While commodities valued at 8 lakh taka were recovered, 7 lakh taka were lost. Electrical short circuits can ignite a fire.

A local union member. Ishaq Ali said, "On Sunday night, there was a fire incident in my area." Eighteen people's homes were set on fire. Three youngsters are among the eight victims who have been rushed to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
