Kalapara, Aug 22 (V7N) - Active monsoon winds are bringing continuous rainfall to Kalapara in Patuakhali. The weather office recorded 23 millimeters of rain between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Thursday. The ongoing rainfall over the past week has led to widespread disruption, particularly affecting low-income workers.

Aman fields are inundated, causing many farmers to lose their Aman seeds to rotting. Planting of seedlings has become increasingly difficult, and vegetable farmers are also facing significant damage. Additionally, the Bay of Bengal near Kuakata is experiencing rough conditions, with large waves crashing onto the shore.

Water levels in rivers and streams have risen by 2 to 3 feet above normal, resulting in frequent flooding of low-lying areas during high tides.
