Ukhia Cox's Bazar, Sept 9 V7N- In a coordinated effort to curb escalating violence within the Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar, the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) arrested seven individuals from the Ukhia Rohingya camps. The operation, conducted between 3 PM and 7:30 PM on Monday, September 9, targeted the Jamtoli and Hakim Para camps, where tensions have been rising due to violent clashes between rival groups vying for dominance.

The recent surge in shootings and other forms of violence has created a dangerous environment, prompting ordinary Rohingya residents to protest against the unrest. To restore order, law enforcement agencies, including the District Police, Executive Magistrate, RAB, BGB, and Ansar, launched a special joint operation. As a result, three individuals were arrested from the Jamtoli Rohingya Camp and four from the Hakim Para Camp.

Md. Amir Zafar, the captain of the 8th Armed Police Battalion (APBN), confirmed the arrests. Following the operation, the accused were handed over to Ukhia police station for further legal proceedings. The authorities hope that these measures will help stabilize the situation in the camps and ensure the safety of residents.
