Tangail, Sept 10 V7N - RAB-14 arrested a 63-year-old woman, Hasina, from the Shantikunj area of Tangail town for drug trafficking. She was apprehended on Sunday evening, and the authorities recovered 70 grams of heroin valued at approximately 7 lakh taka, along with 1,985 taka in cash and a mobile phone. The arrest was confirmed in a press release by Major Manzoor Mehdi Islam, the RAB-14 company captain and deputy director.

Hasina, hailing from the Matikata village in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi district, was reportedly a member of a drug-trafficking network. According to Major Mehdi, she had been using various tactics to evade law enforcement and had been smuggling heroin from Rajshahi to different regions, including Tangail. Following her arrest, she was handed over to the Tangail Sadar police station, and Major Mehdi assured that the anti-drug operations would continue.
