Khagrachari, Sep 24 (V7N)- Around 1,500 tourists who had been stranded in Sajek for four days due to a 72-hour blockade safely returned to Khagrachari on Tuesday morning. Tourist buses began departing Sajek shortly after 7 AM, and about 50 tourists were airlifted to their destinations with the assistance of the army.

Suparna Dev Barman, President of the Sajek Cottage and Resort Owners Association, confirmed that all the tourists staying in Sajek were safely transported out by Tuesday morning, with no remaining tourists in the area.

Meanwhile, the situation in Rangamati is also gradually returning to normal. Local businesses have reopened, and affected business owners are working to recover. Most educational institutions in the district have resumed operations, and CNG auto rickshaws are once again operating in the city. Long-distance bus, truck, and sea launch services have also resumed.

The tourists were stranded in Sajek from Saturday, following a 72-hour road and waterway blockade called by Jumma students in protest. However, with the blockade now over, life in the region is beginning to return to its usual pace.
