Kustia Nov 04 (V7N) — Islamic University’s (IU) sports field will undergo further expansion, announced Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah during the inauguration of the 2023-2024 inter-hall and inter-department football tournament on Sunday afternoon. Speaking as the chief guest, the Vice-Chancellor highlighted the university's rich sports legacy and the accomplishments of its athletes, both locally and internationally. “This university sports field has a glorious tradition, and the achievements of our players are significant. The university will be honored through their achievements both at home and abroad,” he said.

Encouraging the participants, Dr. Nasrullah urged them to uphold the university’s reputation and assured his continued support in fostering sports and leadership within the student community.

The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. Md. Obaidul Islam, the student advisor and convener of the inter-hall and inter-department competition. Also attending were notable faculty members, including the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Dr. Manzoorul Haque; the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Khondoker Touhidul Anam; and the President of the Provost Council, Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad.
