Dhaka, Dec 08 (V7N) — Recent rumours circulating on social media suggesting that schools will remain open on Saturdays from the next academic year have been dismissed by the Ministry of Education and the Department of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHHE).

Both entities clarified on Saturday that no such decision has been made. Durga Rani Sikder, Assistant Director of the Secondary Department, stated, “The weekly holidays for educational institutions are Fridays and Saturdays, and this remains unchanged. I am not aware of any decisions to alter this schedule.”

Reinforcing this, Siraj-ud-Daula Khan, Senior Information Officer at the Ministry of Education, confirmed that no plans to keep schools open on Saturdays in 2025 have been approved. “If any decision is taken, it will be communicated officially through a notification,” he said, urging people not to heed baseless rumours.

The ministry has advised the public to rely on official announcements for accurate information regarding educational policies.
