Khulna, Feb 23 (V7N) – Two buses carrying 80 students from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) have left for Dhaka to submit a six-point demand memorandum to the Chief Advisor of KUET. Their demands include the resignation of the Vice-Chancellor and the appointment of a new one.

The students departed at 8 AM on Sunday, with red cloths tied around their heads and eyes, symbolizing their protest against the ongoing crisis on campus.

Students Demand Security, Reject Administration’s Claims

Before reaching Dhaka, the protesting students held a press briefing, stating:
"We feel insecure on campus. We will meet the Chief Advisor with our demands, and after that, we will move to a safe place. We will not return to the campus until security is ensured. Until then, our academic activities will continue online."

They also rejected the KUET administration’s claims that their demands had already been accepted. The students argued that while the attackers have been clearly identified, the university authorities have falsely accused unidentified individuals instead.

"The names, identities, and photos of the armed men involved in the bloody KUET incident have been provided in detail. However, no action is being taken against Chhatra Dal supporters and BNP members involved in the attack. We believe the issue lies within the KUET administration itself."

Police Arrest Four Suspects in KUET Attack

Meanwhile, law enforcement authorities have arrested four individuals for their alleged involvement in the attack on KUET students. On Saturday, the suspects were produced before a court and subsequently sent to jail.

The situation remains tense, with students continuing their protests while seeking intervention from higher authorities to address their security concerns and demands.
