Khulna, Apr 15 (V7N) – Students at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) have intensified their protest, calling for the resignation of the vice-chancellor and the withdrawal of expulsion orders for 37 students. The protesting students also announced a program to enter the residential halls if the locks are broken. This announcement was made on Tuesday afternoon.
The students have been staging a sit-in protest in front of the administrative building since Sunday afternoon (April 13), demanding the resumption of academic activities and the opening of the residential halls. Following an emergency syndicate meeting held on Monday night (April 14), it was announced that educational activities will resume on May 4, and the halls will open on May 2.
The protests were sparked by the temporary expulsion of 37 students due to their involvement in the February 18 clash. The students have demanded the reversal of the expulsion orders and action against the real culprits involved in the incident. They have also reiterated their demand for the immediate resumption of academic activities and the opening of the halls.
