Cox’s Bazar, July 8 – Shahjahan Chowdhury, President of the Cox’s Bazar District BNP and former Member of Parliament and Whip, has pledged to establish a large Islamic library at Rajapalong Emdadul Ulum Fazil (Degree) Madrasa. He made the announcement while speaking as the chief guest at the institution’s orientation program for the 2024–25 Fazil 1st Year students on Tuesday morning.
During his speech, Shahjahan Chowdhury stated, “If Allah grants me life and the people once again choose me as their servant in parliament, I will, insha’Allah, build a major library at this madrasa. It will contain Islamic books collected from various countries of the East to help students gain deeper religious knowledge.”
He also revealed a broader plan to construct a multi-storey academic building equipped with a modern elevator to accommodate the madrasa’s growing needs. His vision is to elevate the madrasa’s infrastructure and academic resources to national standards.
Emphasis on Ethics, Patriotism, and Education
Addressing the students, Shahjahan Chowdhury emphasized the importance of developing personal character through patriotism, ethics, and spiritual values. He urged both students and teachers to remain committed to regular attendance and sincere engagement in the learning process, which he described as essential to achieving national progress through religious education.

In a solemn moment during his address, the BNP leader paid tribute to several deceased scholars who had served at the madrasa, including Maulana Ayaz, Hafez Abdus Salam, Maulana Zamir Uddin, Nur Ahmad, Kalim Ullah, and Khairul Bashar. He praised their lifelong dedication to Islamic education and the development of the institution.
