Dhaka, Sep 18 (V7N) – The Bangla Academy has announced that the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 will be held from December 17, 2025 to January 17, 2026, instead of the traditional February schedule.

The change was made considering the timing of the upcoming parliamentary elections and the holy month of Ramadan, the Academy said in a notice issued Thursday (Sept 18).

The decision came at a meeting chaired by Md. Mofidur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The meeting was attended by Bangla Academy Director General Prof. Mohammad Azam, Academy officials, and representatives from the Book Publishers and Sellers Association.
