Dhaka, Dec 12 (V7N) — The MBBS and BDS admission test for the 2025–26 academic year is being held today (Thursday) at 10 am across 17 centers and 49 venues in the country.
As per the Ministry of Health’s guidelines, candidates were required to enter their respective centers between 8:00 am and 9:30 am. Entry gates were closed strictly after 9:30 am.
Earlier, a directive issued by the Ministry on Tuesday (December 9) stated that the exam duration has been increased by 15 minutes this year, making it 1 hour and 15 minutes.
The 100-mark MCQ exam follows this subject-wise distribution:

Each correct answer carries 1 mark, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The minimum pass mark is 40.
Candidates were instructed to bring a color-printed admit card in a transparent bag, a transparent black ballpoint pen, and their HSC/equivalent admit or registration card. All electronic devices—including mobile phones, watches, and calculators—as well as any non-transparent bags are strictly prohibited inside the examination venues.
For the 2025–26 academic year, government medical colleges have 5,645 seats (5,100 MBBS and 545 BDS). Private medical and dental colleges offer 7,406 seats (6,001 MBBS and 1,405 BDS). In total, 13,051 seats are available nationwide, including 11,101 MBBS and 1,950 BDS seats.
This year, 122,632 applicants have registered for the admission test—49,028 boys and 73,604 girls—reflecting a continued rise in the number of prospective medical students.
