Dhaka/Chittagong, July 27 (V7N)- The remaining Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations under the Chittagong Education Board resumed on Monday (July 27) after being postponed for nearly three weeks due to floods and adverse weather conditions.
At the same time, HSC and equivalent examinations under the other nine general education boards, Madrasa Education Board and Technical Education Boards are continuing according to the previously announced schedule.
According to the examination routine, students under the nine general education boards will sit for Civics and Good Governance First Paper, Biology (Theoretical) First Paper and Business Organization and Management First Paper examinations from 10 am on Monday. The Food and Nutrition First Paper examination will be held in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, Alim examinees under the Madrasa Education Board will participate in examinations on Islamic History, Physics Second Paper (Theoretical) and Tajweed Second Paper (Mujabbid Mahir Section).
Under the Technical Education Board, HSC (BMT) candidates will take part in the Human Resource Management-1 examination.
Earlier, considering the flood situation, students’ physical and mental condition and communication difficulties in affected areas, the remaining HSC and equivalent examinations under the Chittagong Education Board were postponed on July 16 until further notice.
Following improvement in the situation and approval from the Ministry of Education, Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon announced on Thursday (July 23) that the postponed examinations would resume from July 27.
According to the new decision, students will now participate in the remaining examinations following the existing routine. However, examinations held before the suspension order will be conducted again later under a new schedule.
The HSC and equivalent examinations under the Chittagong Education Board had remained suspended since July 8, while examinations continued normally under other education boards across the country.
This year, a total of 12 lakh 70 thousand 583 candidates have registered for HSC and equivalent examinations under the nine general education boards, Madrasa Education Board and Technical Education Boards.
Among them, 99 thousand 688 candidates are appearing under the Chittagong Education Board through 114 examination centers. Across the country, 9,439 educational institutions and 2,697 examination centers have been arranged for the examinations.
