Rangamati, Sept 11 (V7N) — The Chhatra Dal unit of Rangamati University of Science and Technology (RMSTU) has taken an initiative to promote health awareness and support the well-being of female students by distributing sanitary napkins on campus.

The programme was held on Thursday, Sept. 10, as part of an effort to raise awareness among female students about menstrual hygiene and improve access to essential health and hygiene products.

RMSTU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Zainul Abedin Siddique attended the programme as the chief guest. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam, the university registrar, student adviser, deans of different faculties, department chairpersons, the provost of the female students’ hall and teachers from various departments were also present.

Organizers said the presence, encouragement and support of university teachers added significance to the initiative undertaken by the RMSTU Chhatra Dal.

Leaders of the RMSTU Chhatra Dal said their activities are focused on prioritizing students’ welfare, needs and health protection. They said the distribution of sanitary napkins was not merely a relief-oriented activity but part of a broader effort to promote health awareness and create a more female-friendly campus environment.

They further said the organization had stood by students in addressing legitimate needs and welfare issues in the past and would continue to do so in the future. Similar initiatives would be continued to support students’ health, safety and rights, they added.

The organizers said the RMSTU Chhatra Dal would continue its efforts with the goal of helping build a healthy, safe, student-friendly and compassionate university campus.
