Dhaka, August 13 –After being closed for nearly a month, all primary schools, Shishu Kalyan Trust-run Shishu Kalyan Primary Schools, and learning centers of the Non-formal Education Bureau across Bangladesh are set to reopen on August 14, 2024. The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education issued a directive on Tuesday, confirming the reopening of these educational institutions.

The directive, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Satyajit Roy Das, was sent to all district and upazila level officials, providing necessary instructions for the resumption of classes. According to the directive, the primary schools will resume full-scale classroom activities starting Wednesday.

Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, stated that although the schools had remained open during the closure, formal teaching had been suspended. "Classes will start in full swing from Wednesday," he announced.

The directive also noted that the previous office order issued by the Ministry on August 3, 2024, which had affected primary-level educational activities, has now been revoked, allowing for the full resumption of academic activities across all primary institutions.

This reopening marks a significant step in returning to normalcy in the education sector after the prolonged disruption, much to the relief of students, parents, and educators across the country.
