Dhaka, Aug 04 (V7N) – The newly proposed Dhaka Central University, which will incorporate seven government colleges across Dhaka city, is set to break from traditional university models by offering international standard infrastructure and school-based educational programs.
Details were announced at a press conference on Monday morning. The seven colleges have been reorganized into four distinct schools or faculties:
-
School of Science: Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College, Begum Badrunnesa College
-
School of Arts and Humanities: Government Bangla College, Government Titumir College
-
School of Business Studies: Government Titumir College
-
School of Law and Justice: Kabi Nazrul Government College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College
The university will adopt an interdisciplinary and hybrid teaching model, with approximately 40% of classes conducted online and 60% held in person. All examinations, however, will be administered offline.
Admission will be offered in 23 undergraduate subjects. Students enrolling this year will continue under the current academic structure, while admissions under the new university framework are expected to commence next year, pending parliamentary approval of the relevant law.
