Dhaka, Mar 03 (V7N) — Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Pranay Kumar Verma has expressed India’s interest in working closely with Bangladesh’s new government on people-oriented initiatives.

He made the remarks after a courtesy call on Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, at the Secretariat on Tuesday (March 3) afternoon.

During the meeting, the High Commissioner emphasized India’s focus on people-centric relations and discussed ways to promote the development of local government institutions in Bangladesh.

The discussions also covered several bilateral areas, including the exchange of representatives between the two countries and collaborative skill development programs aimed at enhancing human resource capabilities.

Both sides highlighted the importance of continued cooperation to strengthen ties and support initiatives that directly benefit citizens.
