Mumbai, Jan 19 (V7N) — Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was seriously injured in an attack at his Mumbai residence recently. After undergoing surgery, doctors have confirmed that he is now out of danger.
Mumbai Police initially arrested a suspect, but it was later revealed that the individual had no connection to the incident. However, in a significant development, the police have alleged that the attack was orchestrated by a Bangladeshi national who had illegally entered India.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam informed the media on Sunday morning that a suspect, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, was arrested on Wednesday night. According to the police, Shehzad entered India illegally four months ago and had been living in Mumbai under the alias Vijay Das. He was reportedly working as a waiter at a restaurant but had been unemployed recently.
The police claim Shehzad broke into Saif Ali Khan's house with the intention of robbery. Several items were recovered from the suspect, although specific details were not disclosed. A case has been filed against him under the Passport Act.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident, but they admit they lack concrete evidence to fully substantiate their claims regarding Shehzad's role as the primary planner. Meanwhile, the film industry and fans of Saif Ali Khan have expressed their relief over the actor’s recovery and have called for swift justice in the case.
