Mumbai, Oct 15 (V7N) — Veteran Indian actor Pankaj Dhir passed away on Wednesday morning after a prolonged battle with cancer. His last rites are expected to be performed later today.
Pankaj was first diagnosed with the disease two years ago during surgery. Although he initially showed signs of recovery, his condition deteriorated in recent months, leading to his untimely death.
The actor gained widespread recognition for his iconic role in BR Chopra’s ‘Mahabharat’, but his career spanned nearly 55 years, during which he appeared in numerous Hindi films, television serials, and web series. Some of his notable films include ‘Soldier,’ ‘Zamin,’ ‘Andaz,’ ‘Baadshah,’ and ‘Tarzan: The Wonder Car.’
In addition to acting, Pankaj Dhir directed two films and continued working actively in the industry, with his most recent appearance in the 2024 serial ‘Dhruv Tara.’
