Kolkata, Aug 20 (V7N)- Popular Tollywood pair Dev and Subhashree Ganguly are set to reunite on screen after an 11-year break with the upcoming film ‘Deshu 7’.
The duo was once widely discussed for both their on-screen chemistry and personal relationship. After their relationship ended, however, both moved on with their respective lives and did not work together for more than a decade.
The shooting of ‘Deshu 7’ concluded on Wednesday (August 19). On the final day of filming, Subhashree penned an open letter to Dev on social media, sharing her experience of working on his directorial debut and expressing admiration for his work.
In the letter, Subhashree recalled that both she and Dev began their careers around the same time, but said working on his first film offered her a completely different experience.
She also admitted that she initially felt a little jealous after seeing Dev’s vision as a director. She said she was surprised by his understanding of screenwriting and production while simultaneously handling different responsibilities on the film.
However, as production progressed, her initial feeling reportedly turned into inspiration.
Subhashree expressed happiness at being part of Dev’s directorial debut and said she believes the film could introduce a new director to the industry who understands both storytelling and audience entertainment.
She also congratulated Dev and expressed confidence in his future as a filmmaker.
The reunion of Dev and Subhashree has already generated considerable interest among audiences, particularly because the pair is returning to the screen together after such a long gap.
Popular Kolkata actors Anirban Bhattacharya and Priyanka Sarkar are also part of the cast of ‘Deshu 7’.
The film is scheduled to be released in cinemas on October 16, coinciding with the Sharad Durga Puja celebrations.
