Dhaka, Oct 05 (V7N)- Popular Bangladeshi singer Pritam Hassan and actress-model Shehtaz Monira Hashem have announced that they are ending their marriage and moving forward with the divorce process.
The couple shared separate posts on their social media accounts on Sunday night, saying they remain grateful for the time and memories they shared and continue to care for and respect each other.
According to their statements, they gradually realized that being apart would be better for both of them because of a lack of mutual understanding. After considerable thought, mutual agreement and discussions with their families, they decided to begin a new chapter in their lives.
Pritam and Shehtaz first met through their work on the music video for the song ‘Jadukar’ in 2017. Their professional relationship later developed into a romantic relationship.
After several years of dating, the couple married in October 2022. Their relationship had therefore progressed from a professional acquaintance to romance and eventually marriage.
In their statements, neither Pritam nor Shehtaz placed blame on the other. Instead, they emphasized mutual respect and described their decision as one reached with the consent of both sides and support from their families.
Celebrity relationships often attract considerable public attention, particularly when couples share aspects of their personal lives with fans. As a result, news of a separation can generate widespread discussion on social media and among entertainment audiences.
The separation of Pritam and Shehtaz comes after several other high-profile celebrity marriages in Bangladesh have ended. Among the widely discussed examples is the former marriage of singer Tahsan Rahman Khan and actress Rafiat Rashid Mithila, who married in 2006 and announced their separation in 2017.
Pritam and Shehtaz's decision has once again brought attention to the personal challenges that can arise in long-term relationships. Their statements indicate that the divorce process is being undertaken through mutual understanding and with respect for each other.
