Kolkata, 17 July- Popular Kolkata actress Sohini Sarkar has tied the knot with singer Sobhan Ganguly. The couple got married on Monday, July 15, in a legal ceremony held at a palace in South Twenty-four Parganas, according to Indian media reports. The intimate event was attended by close friends, with the couple arriving at the venue a day earlier.

Sohini shared her wedding pictures on Facebook, where she is seen wearing a traditional Banarasi sari, adorned with tikli on her head, flowers in her hair, a gold chain around her neck, while Sobhan donned a white silk dhoti and Punjabi. The actress captioned the photos, "A year after meeting together in the same room."

The news of their marriage comes as a delightful surprise, following Sohini's earlier comments on marriage, where she humorously questioned the need for a grand wedding premiere.

Sohini Sarkar began her acting career in 2006 with TV series such as 'Ogo Badhu Sundari,' 'Advitiya,' and 'Bhoomikanya.' She gained significant attention in 2011 with her role in 'Advitiya.' She made her film debut in 2013 with 'Rupkatha Nai' and further established her presence with 'Faring' the same year. After a brief hiatus, she returned with 'Open T Bioscope,' earning widespread acclaim.

Her notable filmography includes 'Rajkahini,' 'Har Har Byomkesh,' and 'Vibaah Diaries.' Sohini transitioned to the OTT platform in 2019, featuring in several popular web series. Her recent film, 'Athai,' has also garnered attention.

Interestingly, co-actor Anirban Bhattacharya had predicted Sohini's marriage if 'Athai' became a hit, which has indeed come true. Singer Eamon Chakraborty, a close friend of the couple, revealed that Sohini and Sobhan's love story began in 2023 during the Baishe Shravan event at Nazrul Manch, organized by Jesus Sengupta.
