Dhaka, Mar 31 (V7N)- The main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr was held at the National Eidgah in Dhaka in a religiously solemn and festive atmosphere. Thousands of worshippers from all walks of life gathered to perform the Eid prayers, marking the joyous occasion.

The Eid prayers began at 8:30 AM on Monday, with Mufti Mohammad Abdul Malek, the Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, leading the congregation. Muazzin Muhammad Habibur Rahman of Baitul Mukarram recited the Azan and Quranic verses. People from various backgrounds, including the Interim Government’s Chief Advisor, Professor Muhammad Yunus, members of the Advisory Council, judges of the Supreme Court and High Court, political leaders, senior government officials, and diplomats from Muslim countries, attended the congregation.

After the prayers, a special Munajat was offered, seeking peace, prosperity, and well-being for the people of Bangladesh. The prayers were filled with spiritual significance, as worshippers raised their hands in devotion, asking for Allah’s blessings.

This year, extensive arrangements were made at the National Eidgah, covering an area of 25,400 square meters, with the capacity to accommodate 35,000 worshippers. A separate prayer section was arranged for women, ensuring that everyone could participate in the Eid celebrations comfortably.

Apart from the National Eidgah, multiple Eid congregations were held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. The Islamic Foundation organized five separate Eid prayers at 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 10:45 AM to accommodate the large number of worshippers. The arrangements ensured smooth and orderly prayers, allowing the faithful to celebrate Eid with devotion and joy.
