DHAKA, May 15, (V7N) – A two-member delegation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), headed by its president Maria Howlader, recently met with Malcolm Bacchus, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW), at the ICAEW's office in London.
The other member of the ICAB delegation was Chief Operating Officer Mahbub Ahmed Siddique.
Representing ICAEW were Jon Hooper, Senior Manager, International Capacity Building; Daniel Westley, Senior International Business Development Manager; and Jonathan Mbewe, Senior Manager, International Development.
ICAB UK Chapter Chairman AKM Fazlur Rahman also attended the meeting, according to a press release today.
The ICAB team engaged in discussions on a broad spectrum of professional matters, including mutual collaboration and professional development, the impact of artificial intelligence on the profession, audit software, the implementation of sustainability reporting, learning methodologies, academic curriculum, students' pathway schemes, and study materials.
They also explored capacity building initiatives for the institute, encompassing management organograms and training programs.
The presidents of both ICAB and ICAEW reached an agreement to incorporate more specific provisions in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that is due for renewal this year.
ICAB has maintained a partnership with ICAEW as a learning and professional development partner and has been recognized as an ICAEW tuition provider since 2008. The first MoU between ICAB and ICAEW was signed in 2009.
