Dhaka, July 23 (V7N) – The interim government has announced that the death toll in the tragic plane crash at Milestone School and College in Diabari, Dhaka, has reached 29. Meanwhile, 68 people continue to receive treatment in various hospitals across the capital.

The update was posted on the Chief Advisor’s verified Facebook page on Wednesday (July 23).

Earlier, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had reported 31 deaths as of Tuesday afternoon. However, a child named Nafi (9), who was in the hospital’s intensive care unit, passed away later that night, leading to adjustments in the overall count.

According to hospital reports provided during the government inquiry:

  • At the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, 44 patients are under treatment, with 11 deaths recorded.

  • The Combined Military Hospital (CMH) is treating 21 patients, with 15 fatalities.

  • The Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital and Shaheed Mansur Ali Medical College Hospital each have one patient under treatment with no deaths reported.

  • Dhaka Medical College Hospital has recorded one death but no current patients.

  • Lubana General Hospital and Cardiac Center has reported one death; however, the identity of this deceased individual has not yet been confirmed.

  • The Uttara Modern Medical College Hospital has one patient under treatment and no deaths.

  • United Hospital has reported one death but no patients currently admitted.

In total, 68 people remain hospitalized, and the confirmed death toll stands at 29, pending final confirmation of one deceased at Lubana General Hospital.

The government continues to coordinate treatment efforts and investigations into the crash, extending support to the victims’ families and the injured.
