Dhaka, Dec 20, (V7N)— The burial of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson and prominent July Revolution figure Sharif Osman Hadi was completed next to the tomb of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam on Saturday afternoon. Hadi was laid to rest at the Jatiya Nazrul Tomb premises at approximately 3:30 pm following a state-recognized funeral ceremony. Earlier, his funeral prayers (Janaza) were held at the South Plaza of the National Parliament, led by his elder brother. The ceremony was attended by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus, members of the Council of Advisers, and senior leaders from various political parties, alongside thousands of mourners who gathered to pay their final respects.

In a tribute speech before the funeral, Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus hailed Hadi’s bravery, citing the poet Nazrul’s famous lines, "Bal Bir Chir Unnata Momo Shir," to emphasize that Hadi provided the nation with a mantra to never bow its head. Meanwhile, Inqilab Mancha member secretary Abdullah Al Jaber expressed frustration over the lack of arrests a week after the attack. He issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the Home Affairs Adviser and Special Assistant Khodabox Chowdhury to provide a public update on the investigation. Hadi had been critically injured by a gunshot wound on December 12 in Dhaka's Bijoynagar area and passed away on Thursday night at Singapore General Hospital while undergoing advanced treatment. A day of national mourning was observed across Bangladesh on Saturday in honor of his sacrifice.
