To allay the fears of purchasers, Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder has issued a stringent mandate to lower the price of rice within Four days.
In remarks to the media on Wednesday, January 17, he emphasized that price hikes during the busiest time of year are not justified and mandated that mills obtain a food-grade license by the next day.
He further said that anybody hoarding rice and paddy without the required license would not be exempted.
Minister Majumder emphasized the drive for just practices and moral behavior while reaffirming his commitment to reshaping market control.
The minister emphasized the need of openness and mandated that everyone report stock and purchase information after seven days.
He emphasized the need to overcome obstacles in the rice market and called for a feeling of national duty.
