Dhaka, Oct 01 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stayed in power with the backing of India's intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

Speaking as the chief guest at an event in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan yesterday, Rizvi claimed, "India aided Sheikh Hasina in holding onto power by relying on RAW. She trusted them to ensure her rule, and anyone opposing India faced repercussions under her administration."

He went on to criticize Hasina's government, accusing it of responding to democratic demands with brutal force. He highlighted incidents of violent suppression, enforced disappearances, and killings of dissidents.

Rizvi further claimed that Sheikh Hasina's government has targeted individuals at all levels, from MPs to ward councilors, with the help of law enforcement agencies. He accused her of extensive corruption, stating, "She has engaged in so much corruption and looting that she silenced any dissent." Rizvi also suggested that she had transferred funds abroad through close associates in anticipation of needing to flee the country.

Addressing the government, Rizvi asked, "Why are you afraid? Why haven’t you arrested Hasina's associates or removed them from power? Why hasn’t the Union Parishad chairmanship been abolished? These individuals are criminals, responsible for the martyrdom of our students."
