Dhaka, Oct 05 (V7N): A dialogue between the interim government Chief Dr. Muhammad Yunus and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is currently in progress at the Chief Adviser’s official residence, State Guesthouse Jamuna.

The BNP delegation, led by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, entered the venue just before the meeting began at 2:30 PM. According to political sources, the dialogue is expected to continue until 8:00 PM, with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and CPB possibly joining later in the day.

Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP media cell, mentioned that the BNP delegation includes senior leaders and members of the party's standing committee. Key topics for discussion include reform initiatives and the ongoing political situation.

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, had earlier announced that several political parties, including BNP, were invited to participate in the dialogue. The primary objective of the talks is to inform the parties about the progress of six reform commissions and to address law and order issues, seeking suggestions from the participants.

This marks the third round of dialogue since the interim government’s formation on August 8. Previously, two rounds of discussions were held with political parties led by Dr. Yunus.

The BNP has formed six committees to review the government's reform proposals. These committees will focus on the state's roadmap for reforms and the upcoming elections during the discussions.

The six reform commissions, established by the government, include the Electoral System Reform Commission, Police Administration Reform Commission, Judiciary Reform Commission, Anti-corruption Reform Commission, Public Administration Reform Commission, and Constitution Reform Commission. Each is led by prominent figures, including Dr. Badiul Alam Majumdar, Sarfaraz Hossain, Justice Shah Abu Naeem Mominur Rahman, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Abdul Mueed Chowdhury, and Professor Ali Riaz from Illinois State University.
