Dhaka, Oct 29 (V7N)- The High Court has granted BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s request to intervene and present arguments on behalf of the BNP in the ongoing hearing challenging the legality of the 15th amendment to the constitution, which abolished the non-partisan caretaker government system.
The bench, led by Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debasish Roy Chowdhury, accepted Fakhrul's intervention petition yesterday, filed by his legal team a day prior. The court has scheduled the next hearing on the 15th amendment’s legality for tomorrow, October 30.
Senior lawyers Advocate Zainul Abedin and Badruddoza Badal represented Fakhrul in court during today’s proceedings.
