Dhaka, Oct 30 (V7N)- Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur has warned that unlike in previous administrations, no political party now holds influence over police stations or engages in unofficial discussions with UNOs to push agendas. He stressed that under the current interim government, any officials—including OCs, DCs, UNOs, or SPs—who fail to serve public interests will be promptly dismissed.

Nur’s comments came during an event on Wednesday at a government secondary school field in Dashmina Upazila, Patuakhali, organized by the Gono Odhikar Parishad Upazila Committee.

"Government officials and staff must now prioritize the people’s needs. There is no political authority in power; those acting against public interests will be removed," Nur declared. He highlighted concerns over political biases within government sectors over the last 15 years, saying, "If anyone in the administration serves a party’s interests, they will lose their position."

The event was presided over by Dashmina Upazila Gono Odhikar Parishad President Liyar Hossain. Other speakers included Helena Begum, Assistant Secretary for Relief and Disaster Management of the Central Committee, Syed Nazrul Islam, District Convenor of Gono Odhikar Parishad, and Md Shah Alam Sikder, District Member Secretary. District, upazila, and union leaders and activists, including Upazila General Secretary Milon Mia and Jubo Odhikar Parishad President Kazi Russel, were also in attendance.
