Dhaka, Oct 31 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has unveiled a 10-day program to observe 'National Revolution and Solidarity Day,' marking the historic civil-military uprising on November 7, 1975. Announced by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at the party’s Nayapaltan central office, the programs were set following a joint meeting with BNP affiliates.

Fakhrul emphasized that this year’s events are focused on conveying the significance of the day to the younger generation. On November 7, BNP flags will be raised across all BNP offices, and senior leaders will pay respects at the grave of the late President and party founder, Ziaur Rahman, at 10 a.m.

A discussion meeting will be held on November 6, with details on the venue forthcoming, and a rally is planned for November 8 at 4 p.m. at the Nayapaltan office. To minimize public disruption, the rally is scheduled on a holiday, with similar gatherings planned in all divisions nationwide.

BNP's cultural wing, Jasas, will also host a cultural program at the Central Shaheed Minar on November 7 at 6 p.m. BNP’s associated organizations and units nationwide will participate through discussions, cultural events, essay competitions, photo exhibits, and newspaper supplements to observe the day.

The observance recalls the events of November 7, 1975, when civilians and soldiers jointly freed then Chief of Army Staff Ziaur Rahman from captivity in Dhaka cantonment, setting the stage for his leadership in the country.
