Dhaka, Nov 09 (V7N)- Lutfuzzaman Babar, a BNP leader and former State Minister for Home Affairs, currently incarcerated in Dhaka Central Jail, Keraniganj, is reportedly in serious condition. In response, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) has assembled a four-member medical team to oversee his treatment.

A letter regarding Babar’s condition, signed by BSMMU Director Brigadier General Md. Rezaur Rahman, has been sent to the Central Jail's Jail Superintendent. The letter states that the medical team will begin treating Babar at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The team includes Dr. Syed Fazlul Islam, Dr. Md. Zahidur Rahman, and Dr. Khalid Mahmud Morshed, under the coordination of Dr. Delwar Hossain, Additional Registrar of BSMMU. Babar, 65, suffers from severe respiratory issues, complex kidney ailments, and chronic spinal pain. He has been imprisoned for 17 years.

This medical intervention aims to address his deteriorating health condition, providing necessary care under the supervision of BSMMU specialists.
