Gopalganj, Dec 13 (V7N)- After a hiatus of 17 years, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has inaugurated its district office in Gopalganj. The office, located in a tin-roofed house in Gatepara of the city, was officially opened on Friday morning with a brief ceremony.

Former Gopalganj District BNP President Sirajul Islam Siraj inaugurated the office as the chief guest. Speaking at the occasion, he highlighted the challenges faced by the party during the past 17 years, citing harassment and repression of BNP leaders and activists by law enforcement agencies.

"This marks a new chapter for BNP in Gopalganj. We hope this office will energize party activities in the district and strengthen our organizational efforts," Sirajul Islam Siraj stated.

He also advised leaders and activists to stay united and avoid opportunists, urging them to focus on the party’s goals and objectives.

Following the inauguration, BNP leaders and activists distributed leaflets outlining the party's 31-point demands, rallying support from the local community.

The reopening of the district office is seen as a significant move for the BNP in Gopalganj, signaling a renewed effort to organize and mobilize in a district considered politically challenging for the party.
