Thakurgaon, Jan 04 (V7N)— BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has declared that the party will not yield to conspiracies and plots, accusing the Awami League of destroying the nation to cling to power.
Speaking virtually at a rally organized by the district Chhatra Dal at the Thakurgaon Public Library grounds on Saturday, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Today, many conspiracies and plots have begun. We will not bow to those conspiracies or plots."
He alleged that the Awami League's rule was marked by corruption and inequality, stating, “During Sheikh Hasina's tenure, corruption occurred across the country. Inequality was created everywhere. However, today we have to eliminate that inequality and establish a people's government."
Mirza Fakhrul also claimed that Sheikh Hasina had fled the country in the face of public protests, emphasizing the need for national unity. "Awami League has destroyed everything in the country to stay in power by force. Finally, Sheikh Hasina fled the country in the face of the people's movement. What we need most now is national unity," he remarked.
The rally saw a significant turnout as BNP leaders and supporters reiterated their commitment to bringing about political change in the country.
