Dhaka, Jan 29 (V7N) — BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has strongly criticised the Awami League’s recent program announcement, calling it "the cry of a remorseless woman after killing so many people."
Rizvi made these remarks on Wednesday while visiting the house of Shaheed Ahnaf, who was killed during the July Movement. Speaking on behalf of the BNP, he alleged that "law enforcement agencies killed Ahnaf on the orders of Sheikh Hasina, driven by their greed for rewards."
He further accused the former prime minister of having no remorse for the alleged killings, stating, "Sheikh Hasina does not have the slightest regret. If she could return to the country, the map would no longer exist."
The statement comes in response to the Awami League’s recent call for a nationwide strike on February 18, demanding the resignation of the interim government. The announcement was made on the party’s verified Facebook page on Tuesday (January 28) night. Alongside the strike, the party has outlined a series of five programs based on ten demands, set to be implemented from February 1 to 18.
The political situation in Bangladesh remains tense as both major parties continue to engage in heated rhetoric, raising concerns about further unrest in the coming weeks.
