Dhamrai, Feb 14 (V7N)Yasin Ferdous Murad, President of the Dhaka District Jubo Dal, has called for immediate parliamentary elections, emphasizing that the BNP is fully prepared for the polls.

Speaking at a party workers' conference at Bhalum Ataur Rahman Khan Degree College Maidan in Dhamrai on Friday, Murad stated, "The parliamentary elections must be held this year. We are ready. The elections cannot be delayed under the pretext of preparation."

BNP Confident of Victory

Murad accused some political parties of attempting to delay the elections through misleading statements, suggesting that they fear a BNP victory. "Some people cannot accept that BNP will win the elections. Although it may be difficult for them, we must acknowledge reality—if a free and fair election is held, BNP will come to power, Insha’Allah," he asserted.

National Elections First

Regarding the sequence of elections, Murad stated that while local government elections should be accepted before parliamentary elections, the ongoing crisis necessitates holding national elections first. "The sooner the parliamentary elections take place, the sooner the country’s situation will stabilize," he added.

The event was presided over by former Dhamrai Sadar Union BNP President Abdul Salam and attended by prominent local leaders, including Professor MA Jalil, Khandaker Ayuub, Abu Taher Mukut, Ansar Ali, Sabina Yasmin, freedom fighter Shariful Islam, Ibadul Haque Zahid, and Khurram Chowdhury Tutul.
