Tangail, Feb 15 (V7N) - Shakil Uzzaman, a senior member of the Gono Odhikar Parishad, expressed strong condemnation over the government's inability to apprehend those responsible for the violence under the fascist rule of the Awami League. He stated that even after six months, the killers and perpetrators are still freely roaming in different areas. He demanded that the government immediately arrest these individuals under an operation like Operation Devil Hunt and bring them to justice, stressing that these criminals belong in prison, not on the streets.

He also accused the Awami League of committing mass killings on students and citizens in the country, arguing that such a party has no right to engage in politics. He called for the banning of the Awami League, labeling it as a terrorist organization.

Uzzaman further stated that the Awami League had detained and tortured opposition leaders and activists in solitary confinement for years. He cited international human rights reports that have documented the torture under Sheikh Hasina's regime. He emphasized that Sheikh Hasina must be held accountable internationally for these actions.

The event, held at the Ghatail Upazila Community Center, was presided over by Ripon Mia, President of the newly-formed committee of the Ghatail Upazila branch. Other notable figures in attendance included Moniruzzaman Mia (President of Tangail District gonoGono Odhikar Parishad), Anwar Hossain Ujjal (General Secretary of Ghatail Upazila branch), and Shamimur Rahman Sagar (General Secretary of Tangail District branch), among others.
