Dhaka, Mar 05 (V7N) – BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has stated that the trial of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is not linked to the upcoming elections. He asserted that any future elected government would remain committed to prosecuting Hasina and other Awami League leaders for alleged crimes.
He made these remarks while speaking at a roundtable discussion on the challenges and prospects of ship recycling, organized by the Bangladesh Shipbreakers and Recyclers Association at a hotel in the capital on Wednesday (March 5) afternoon.
During his speech, Amir Khosru emphasized that the shipbreaking industry is a crucial sector of the Bangladeshi economy and urged that industry associations be kept free from excessive government control to ensure sustainable growth.
Later, while addressing journalists on political developments, he reiterated that major national issues would only be resolved through parliamentary consensus under an elected government. He stressed that no fundamental crisis could be resolved at this moment.
Khosru also underlined the importance of an elected government in addressing the ongoing political and economic challenges facing the country.
