Dhaka, Mar 14 (V7N) – BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Zainul Abdin Faruk has accused Sheikh Hasina of turning Bangladesh into a "bottomless basket" and conspiring against the country while staying in India.
Speaking at a protest rally organized by the Bangladesh Civil Rights Movement at the National Press Club on Friday (March 14), Faruk claimed that Hasina prioritized India's interests over Bangladesh’s, leading to the country’s economic and political deterioration.
Faruk further alleged that India is spreading disinformation and propaganda against Bangladesh, warning that such interference will no longer be tolerated. He vowed that a strong response would be given against India’s involvement in Bangladesh’s internal affairs.
During the rally, Faruk also demanded:
- A fair trial for Hasina’s actions during her rule,
- Exemplary punishment for those involved in the "Asia incident", and
- Immediate general elections to restore democracy.
The protest rally was attended by several BNP leaders and civil society members, emphasizing growing opposition to external influence and Sheikh Hasina’s political activities abroad.
