Dhaka, Mar 24 (V7N) – BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has emphasized the need to support those who are committed to humanitarian work, stating that standing by the people requires more than just political efforts.
"You can't stand by the people just by doing politics. People have many things to do outside of politics," he remarked during the first anniversary celebration of We, the BNP Family, a humanitarian organization, at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Sunday evening.
Exactly one year ago, under the patronage of Tarique Rahman, We, the BNP Family was established with the aim of supporting families of those who faced oppression, torture, and political killings during the Awami League’s rule.
Since its formation, the organization has actively provided financial aid, medical supplies, and moral support to persecuted BNP leaders and activists across the country. Notably, during the July-August uprising, the organization visited the homes of those injured or killed, offering necessary assistance.
Joining the first anniversary celebrations virtually, Tarique Rahman praised the organization's achievements over the past year and encouraged further humanitarian efforts in the future.
He reiterated that politics alone is not enough to serve the people, and those willing to work for social welfare should be encouraged and supported.
The event was attended by BNP leaders, activists, and members of We, the BNP Family, who reaffirmed their commitment to standing by oppressed families and expanding their humanitarian efforts in the coming years.
