Dhaka, Mar 31 (V7N)- National Citizens Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam has called for the cancellation of Awami League’s registration as a political party while demanding that the party be put on trial for genocide.
Nahid Islam made these remarks on Monday (March 31) morning after visiting the graves of martyrs of the July Uprising at Jurain Cemetery in the capital.
Speaking to reporters, he stated, “The stance on Awami League is clear. They have no right to engage in politics in Bangladesh. The people gave their verdict on August 5, and now it remains to be seen how it will be implemented.”
The NCP leader also affirmed that his party would continue to stand by the families of those killed and injured in the July Uprising, pledging full support to their cause.
