Dhaka, Apr 08 (V7N) – BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has condemned the ongoing Israeli violence in Gaza, expressing strong disapproval of the United Nations' role in responding to the atrocities. Speaking at a Chhatra Dal protest rally on Tuesday (April 8), he called for an immediate cessation of the killings and demanded accountability for Israel’s actions.
Salahuddin Ahmed, along with other BNP leaders, participated in the rally organized by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal in solidarity with the global movement 'The World Stop for Gaza'. The program aims to show support for the Palestinians who have suffered immense casualties and destruction from the Israeli military’s brutal attacks. Chhatra Dal's protest is part of a continued effort to raise awareness about the situation in Gaza and express sympathy for the martyrs and war-wounded Palestinians.
At 12:00 pm, Chhatra Dal leaders and activists gathered in front of the Raju Statue at Dhaka University to begin the protest, condemning Israel’s actions as a violation of international law. The BNP leaders used the occasion to question the United Nations' lack of effective intervention in ending the violence, calling for the UN to take stronger actions against Israel's aggressive tactics.
Salahuddin Ahmed also advocated for a boycott of Israeli products, urging the public to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people by refusing to support Israeli businesses.
Furthermore, the BNP leader raised concerns over the actions of the Bangladesh government’s law enforcement agencies. He questioned the role of the police and other security forces in the attacks on business establishments that were carried out during protests against Israeli aggression. These attacks, he said, were unjustified and detrimental to public safety. The BNP leaders emphasized that such incidents should not be tolerated under the guise of political or social unrest.
