Dhaka, Apr 25 (V7N)- Dhaka District Jubo Dal President Yasin Ferdous Murad on Friday alleged that a deliberate plot is underway to delay or thwart the upcoming national election under the guise of reforms.
Speaking at an extended meeting of the BNP in Suapur Union of Dharmarai Upazila, Murad said, “The people of the country want the election to take place before December this year. But certain quarters are attempting to delay the polls, with efforts to postpone it for a prolonged period.”
The event, held at the local Union Parishad office, was attended by leaders and activists from BNP, Jubo Dal, and other allied organizations. Murad urged party workers to stay alert and not fall into traps that could lead to political chaos. He emphasized the importance of maintaining order and ensuring that the people's desire for voting rights is respected.
Murad further claimed that conspiracies are being hatched to tarnish the image of the BNP, but asserted that such efforts would fail under the leadership of Tarique Rahman. “The people will regain their voting rights,” he said confidently.
He also called on the interim government to announce an election roadmap by December, following the completion of necessary reforms.
Highlighting the BNP's 31-point state restructuring plan proposed by Tarique Rahman, Murad said the future BNP government would focus on creating an equal and humane society. The proposed initiatives include:
-
Family and farmer cards
-
Unemployment benefits
-
Employment generation
-
Free healthcare
-
Fair agricultural prices
-
Higher purchasing power for citizens
-
Fair wages for workers
Murad concluded by reaffirming the BNP’s commitment to restoring democracy and empowering the people through meaningful reforms and fair elections.
