Dhaka, July 11 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has called for early national elections, warning the interim government not to mislead the people in the name of reforms. He made the remarks during a prayer meeting held in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan on Friday (July 11) morning.

Rizvi criticized the presence of what he termed as “fascist allies” in key state positions, saying, “These elements are still entrenched in power structures and will resurface if given the chance.” He urged the interim authorities to take effective legal steps to prosecute those responsible for past repressive actions.

Addressing the ongoing economic crisis, the BNP leader emphasized the need for urgent government initiatives to keep the garment sector and other factories operational, calling it crucial for the livelihood of millions of workers.

“We are not against reforms,” Rizvi said. “But real change will only come through a shift in power and the restoration of democracy via free and fair elections.”

The BNP has consistently called for an inclusive election under a neutral administration, rejecting the legitimacy of the current government formed after the controversial January 7 election.
