Dhaka, Aug 12 (V7N) — The dictatorship has fled, but it has left every sector of the government in a state of ruin, said BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman. He expressed confidence that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) can overcome the situation due to its past experience in running the country.

Tarique Rahman made the remarks while virtually addressing the Naogaon District BNP’s biannual conference on Monday.

“The people of this country trust BNP. They know we do not harm the people. It is the responsibility of every party leader and activist to uphold that trust,” he said. He also noted that if BNP is elected to power in the next national polls, it will have to tackle multiple challenges from day one.

The Naogaon biennial conference has generated excitement among grassroots BNP leaders and supporters, marking the first such gathering in over a decade and a half. Ahead of the event, the streets of Naogaon city were adorned with banners, festoons, arches, and billboards, creating a festive political atmosphere.
