Dhaka, Aug 24 (V7N) – The Dhaka University unit of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has directed all leaders and activists who are not part of its officially nominated panels for the upcoming Dhaka University Central Student Union (DUCSU) and Hall Parliament elections to withdraw their candidacies. The organization has warned that disciplinary action will be taken against those who fail to comply.
The directive was announced in a press release issued on Saturday (August 23).
According to the statement, the final deadline for withdrawal of candidacies is 1:00 pm on August 25. All JCD leaders and activists from Dhaka University and its residential halls who submitted nomination forms outside the panel approved by the central organization must withdraw within the stipulated time.
The release further emphasized that strict organizational disciplinary measures would be enforced against those who defy the directive.
The decision was jointly approved by Ganesh Chandra Roy Sahas, president of the Dhaka University JCD, and Nahiduzzaman Shipon, general secretary of the unit.
