Dhaka, Aug 24 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Rizvi Ahmed has warned that the next parliamentary election could become dangerous if illegal weapons are not immediately recovered, calling on authorities to take swift action.

He made the remarks during a raincoat distribution program for rickshaw and van drivers, organized by Zia Parishad in front of BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan on Sunday (August 24) morning.

Rizvi praised the interim government’s efforts to run the country but cautioned that fascist forces could act against democracy whenever an opportunity arises, potentially working alongside elements within the interim administration.

Referring to the establishment of a people’s government through free and fair elections, he said that the elected government would have the authority to amend the constitution or laws.

The BNP leader urged all political actors not to create obstacles to the electoral process or derail the democratic journey through force, emphasizing the importance of a peaceful and transparent election.
